John Nash is our game theorist of the week, and to the left is his profile on the Nobel Prize website.  I'll include a link to his academic paper that won him a Nobel Prize, including all the prestige and money that goes along with that.  He also had a major motion picture made about his life released in 2001 entitled "A Beautiful Mind."

As you can tell, the mathematics in these papers is a higher level than we need to understand up to this point.  It does exemplify the way in which mathematics can be used to help us solve real problems in the world.  We will look at simpler mathematical equations next week to help us solve simpler games, for which we will win no Nobel prizes, though we may use it to help us win games.
